ABOUT US

IAN CORLESS

I have been involved in endurance sport for over 25 years. Initially a cyclist racing at elite level, then a triathlete and now a runner. I am a Photographer by trade but much of my time is as a coach, training camp organizer and retailer for Hoka One One run shoes at my own business www.runwildrunfree.co.uk I am also a run ambassador for Endurancelife. Of course, the new string to my bow will be a podcasting via TALK ULTRA. Needless to say I am really excited by this new project and I am fortunate to have an excellent co host in Ian Sharman. Shame he is just a bit (no, allot) quicker than me.... I write a blog here and I look forward to hearing all your feedback in regard to our show. Both Ian and myself are very keen to make Talk Ultra a community. Email me.

IAN SHARMAN

I started running in the UK in 2005. My inspiration was a documentary about the famous Muliti stage 'Marathon des Sables' which I signed up for. In training for this race I found that I really enjoyed marathons and ultras, so, I started running them almost every weekend. I even ran in 'costume' and set a couple of Guinness Records. I moved to the US in 2009. I started to run 100 milers as I didn't feel a 'proper' ultra runner in US circles until I tried them out. Luckily, they seem to suit me well! I have had two top 10 finishes at Western States and I won and set a CR at Rocky Raccoon with a 12:44 for 100 miles. I'm definitely addicted and I guess this addiction has wanted me to pursue other aspects of the sport. I write a regular blog and I am now a coach to other runners. You can view my website here. I am really excited at the prospect of not only running but talking about it at Talk Ultra. Email me.
